bridesmaids

Once you’ve selected your wedding dress for the most important day of your life, the next big step is to select dresses for your bridesmaids. This is often just as confusing and stressful as picking your own gown. A lot of questions come into mind and you may not know where to turn.

How much do you want your bridesmaids to stand out and what style would fit them well? It is quite easy to be hostage to their own tastes and what they want to wear, but this is your day, so ultimately it will come down to whatever you decide.

Here are some things to keep in mind as you go through the decision process.

Bridesmaids Dress Size

If you haven’t already figured it out, the first thing to consider is how many bridesmaids will be in the wedding party. You should also consider the figure of the bridesmaids. Are they all around the same shape, height and body type? Overall, even though it is your wedding and they are your bridesmaids, as we said earlier,

you still want to consider what they like and how the dress would fit on them as you wouldn?t want your bridesmaids to be unhappy or uncomfortable. Both the size of your bridesmaid group and the figure type of your bridesmaids should be considered prior to making any final decisions.

At the same time, you do need to try and be true to what you want. In any case, it’d probably be quite difficult to say to a friend, “You’re wearing this color because it makes you look slimmer!”

Theme

brideThe theme of the wedding is going to determine the style of dress the bridesmaids will be wearing. In addition to some other things, the theme of the wedding  can guide you in the right direction. Many couples and brides to be often like to have the bridesmaid dresses match the theme of the wedding ceremony.

If you are looking to do so, before deciding the outfits of your bridesmaids, make sure your wedding theme and style is already decided. It doesn?t have to be set in stone in terms of details, but you should have a loose idea.

One extra consideration you might want to make is whether you all want to look the same. The bride is supposed to stand out. Will you do that if your bridesmaids have the same style dress as you?

Bridesmaids’ Dress Colors

Choosing the right color can also be challenging and somewhat affect the overall theme of the wedding. Do you want your bridesmaids? dresses to all be the same color? You might consider each bridesmaid wearing a different color but the same style. If you opt out of the traditional white wedding dress, then you may consider incorporating your color with theirs, again considering the point above.

Remember, above all, to consider the theme of your wedding, as this decision will make the selection of the style and color of your bridesmaids dresses much easier. Consider having them go out shopping with you to help make your decision simpler. Combining their opinions will allow you to view this decision from a different and perhaps more open perspective.
